After an eventful week last week, I am trying to recover, mentally and emotionally. It was a big cluster fuck of a week.

Even though the events of last week are still pretty recent, Scott and I are recovering well. As we always do.

It’s like we go through these huge curves of doing really well and then doing really bad.

So, I knew the “really good” is to be expected. We just have to figure out how to make it last.

Now, I am suffering physically, but from pregnancy related issues. I am starting to experience lower back pain, no sleep, and fucking awful ass hemorrhoids.

I don’t really recall my back hurting so much in other pregnancy’s, especially this early, but fuck man, it hurts.

No sleep is fucking terrible. I don’t really have a reason for no sleep. I’m not really uncomfortable yet. I literally just wake up in the middle of the night and process life. It’s fucking annoying.

OMG THE FUCKING HEMORRHOIDS. GOD THEY ARE FUCKING AWFUL.

I’ve had them at some point with every single pregnancy. I just want to cut my butthole out. When I have them, it’s basically painful to breathe. It hurt to sit, it hurts to walk. I’ve been doing a lot of Preparation H, and Epsom Salt baths. Tucks pads are always a recommendation, but I don’t feel much relief using them.

This pregnancy is the most painful, physically on my body.

I don’t know if it’s a combination of being pregnant so many times, and chasing 2 kids around, or what. But I am feeling it every day and so much sooner than I ever anticipated.

In baby related news, I had a regular OB checkup this week. There was nothing exciting to report. It was a short one. The doctor just checked the heart rate and asked how everything was. The heart rate was good, it was in the 140’s I think. And I’ve come to the realization that I’m going to break the 200 pound mark at an alarming rate this time around :/ I am 1 pound away already. So that’s fun. I realize I’m growing a baby, but I still have issues with the number on the scale. It’s something I’m still working on.

Poor Briar has been having some issues this week. She has been congested for a while, but that’s very typical this time of year. Other than that, she was overall fine. No sleep interruptions, no excessive crying, no fever, just a little uncomfortable.

I noticed on Thursday of last week her ear had a lot of gunk coming out of it. It looked like it leaked and then it was all dried to her ear. I hadn’t seen this before, but, I’ve had a couple of friends who talked about their babies ear infections and how this happened. I decided I would take her to the doctor on Friday morning to check it because I was sure she had an ear infection. And I didn’t want it to get worse over the weekend. I wanted to go ahead and get some antibiotics flowing.

On Friday, the doctor looked in her bad ear and immediately was said, “Oh yea, she has a ruptured ear drum.”

UH, WHAT??

Then she looked in her good ear and said, “Oh yea, that one is about to rupture. I’m going to have to start her on some strong antibiotics because Amoxicillian isn’t going to cut it.”

UH, WHAT?

Que ALLLLL the mom guilt. I felt absolutely terrible.

The doctor reassured me that I didn’t do anything wrong, but I just felt so bad that I didn’t take her to the doctor sooner. I kept replaying the past few days to see if I missed something. She did wake up one night, which was abnormal for her, and cried a little but, but then went back to sleep. She wasn’t tugging on her ears or complaining about her ears hurting, or anything hurting for that matter.

I just couldn’t believe I let it get that bad.

Thankfully medicine is like candy to this child, so it has been no problem getting her to take it. We go back next week for her 2 year well check and to check on her ears.
