Week 29 of Pregnancy 6

Week 29 of Pregnancy 6

This week continued to be a good and productive week for me.

The potty training has still been ongoing.

It’s pretty much the same as last week. She’s only been going once or twice a day. We are still using pullups and we are still using her potty watch. Her potty watch is set to every 30 minutes. It’s really exhausting, but we do take her every 30 minutes. It’s more so of trying to form a habit. For the moment, we are just trying to form a habit of going to the potty a lot in hopes that she will go. I know we will eventually get there.

Raelynn and I had another small outing together.

We got our haircut! Raelynn had never had her haircut before. I had talked it up for a while with her because I honestly just assumed she would be scared. She’s scared of everything. I showed her pictures of people getting their haircut. I told her that her friends went and got their haircut and they liked it. And, behold, she wasn’t scared. She actually loved it.

Luckily my close friend is our hairdresser so that helped as well. I got my hair done first and I think that made her even more excited. I NEVER get my hair styled, but we had a lot going on that day, so I asked if she could curl my hair. When it was Raelynn’s turn she wanted exactly what I had gotten done, hair wash, hair cut, hair dried, hair styled.

WHERE DID MY BABY GO? WHERE DID THIS TEENAGE GIRL COME FROM?!

She is so beautiful. She is everything I’ve ever wanted in daughter. Even down to that smart mouth of hers that I knew she would have because I made her.

After we spent the morning getting pampered, we went and had lunch. It was just such a good day with her.

Onto this self care and personal growth journey…

I did two self-care things for myself this week.

I scheduled time out of the house this week while the girls napped. It was just time away to work on my blog, but it was so needed. And it’s so refreshing to just get away and do what I want to do. I am going to try and do this more often.

The next one may seem simple, but I started reading a book. I LOVE reading. I just never seem to do it enough. It’s not for lack of time, because I have time at the end of day after the kids go to bed. I just instinctively pick up my phone, or start watching a TV show with Scott. I didn’t set my goal high, I just wanted to read when I had time. So far, so good. I’m only about 40 pages in, but it’s better than nothing.

CrossFit Week 29 of Pregnancy 6

I was extremely excited for CrossFit this week because it was the first week of the CrossFit Open. For those not familiar with the Open, it’s comprised of five workouts over five weeks. One workout is released each week. The Open is the first qualifying stage of the CrossFit games.

Basically, anyone can do these workouts if they have the appropriate equipment.

This will be the third year that I have participated in the CrossFit Open workouts. For me, these workouts are fun and a bench mark. I am OBVIOUSLY not trying to go to the games. But, it’s nice to see some hard work paying off when you are in the gym day in and day out.

This year would be very different because I am in my third trimester. The good thing about CrossFit is, all workouts can be modified to accommodate to your fitness level. It’s one of the best things about CrossFit.

Monday, February 18
Strength
Block Power Clean (Knee)
2×2 @ 50% = 65#
1×2 @ 65% = 85#
1×2 @ 75% = 95#
2×2 @ 82% = 105#
2×1 @ 88% = 105#

Cleans are starting to tax my back more and more, especially as I get further into reps. As you can see, I stayed at 105# because I wasn’t comfortable going up in weight.

Metcon
10 rounds
1 min AMRAP
10 double unders
2 clean and jerks 175/115
5 box jumps
30 sec rest

My score was 10 rounds even. I modified double unders to 10 mountain climbers, clean and jerks down to 85#, and box step ups instead of box jumps.

Wednesday, February 20
Strength
Strict Press
Find 3RM – 85#

I cannot believe my progress on this. Since my deltoid is feeling better, I am getting so close to my 1RM of 100#.

Metcon
5 rounds
10 hspu
7 TTB
5 power jerks 115/75
1 min rest

My time was 9:06. I modified HSPU to regular push ups and TTB to knees above waist.

Saturday, February 23
19.1
15 min AMRAP
19 calorie row
19 wall ball 14#

crossfit wall ball shot

I was able to RX this workout! Yay! My score was 4+9. I went very slow, but I was very okay with that. I felt great during the workout, but in the next couple of days, I felt terrible. My back and knees in particular were the worst.
